About International Jazz Day: Thomas Gould and the John Turville Trio
Enjoy a night to remember with a line-up of extraordinary musicians of international acclaim. Lead violinist of the Britten Sinfonia, Thomas Gould, joins the John Turville Trio (John Turville, Chris Hill, Jay Davis) and Grammy Award-Winner, saxophonist and composer, Tim Garland, for a performance of jazz, improvisation and brand new works. They will present a unique concert exploring the connections between classical music and jazz as they re-imagine the baroque canon alongside cuts from Tim’s albums ‘Re-Focus,’ 'Moment of Departure' and 'Libra', John’s albums ‘Midas, ’Conception,’ and his quintet album 'Head First'.
Due to scheduling issues, the previously planned afternoon workshops and the string ensemble from the school will no longer be part of the day’s events. We apologise for any disappointment this may cause.
